12/30/15 Update: Rosters have been finalized and distributed to the coaches. We are unable to make any further roster adjustments. Practices will start Tuesday, January 5th. First games will begin Wednesday, January 6th.
Welcome to SWISH Basketball!
SWISH Basketball is a program of Bourne Recreation. We encourage good sportmanship, fair play, teamwork and equal playing time. All registration is handled on this website. SWISH is for children from Bourne currently in grades K-8.
Here is some important information regarding the league:
Registration Dates: October 20th - November 20th. Space is limited in each division and registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
Program Dates: January 9th - February 27th.
Grade Requirements: Grade levels in each division are strictly adhered to.
Cancellation Policy: Games cancelled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances will not be made up unless the schedule allows.
If Bourne Public Schools cancel activities, SWISH is cancelled.
Refund Policy: Program withdrawals on or before November 20th will receive a partial refund. No refunds after November 20th except with a medical note.
We are unable to accept requests for specific coaches and/or teammates.
All teams are coached by parent volunteers. Teams will not be formed until each division has enough Head Coaches.
Grades K & 1 Co-Ed: Practice on Saturday mornings. Instructional time followed by a brief scrimmage. Scrimmages are controlled by the coaches, no score kept and no referees.
Grade 2 Co-Ed: Practice on Saturday mornings. Instruction followed by a brief scrimmage. Scrimmages are run by high school/college age students with knowledge of the game. No score is kept.
Grades 3 & 4 Boys & Girls: Boys and Girls play in seperate divisions. 1 practice during the week, on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday; specific day and time will depend on team. Games played on Saturday. Referees are high school/college students. Score will be kept on the scoreboard.
Grades 5 - 8 Girls: 1 practice during the week, games tentatively scheduled for Saturday afternoons. Games will have certified referees. Score will be kept on the scoreboard.
Grade 5 & 6 Boys: 1 practice during the week, on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday; specific day and time will depend on team. Games played on Saturday. Games will have certified referees. Score will be kept on the scoreboard. All teams will make the playoffs.
Grade 7 & 8 Boys: 1 practice during the week, on Tuesday or Thursday; specific day and time will depend on team. Games played on Wednesday nights. Games will have certified referees. Score will be kept on the scoreboard. All teams will make the playoffs.
